To me counseling is about assisting individuals, couples, and families with learning to live in harmony with our Creator, ourselves, and with others as much as possible.
Philosophy of Counseling

It is no secret that life consists of feelings that range from great joy to deep sorrow. To be able to experience all emotions with an appreciation for the part each plays in our lives is a blessing. I believe that such appreciation comes from God. He says in Romans 12:2 that we do not need to be conformed to the world's way of thinking because he is willing to help us transform our minds. To me counseling is about assisting individuals, couples, and families with learning to live in harmony with our Creator, ourselves, and with others as much as possible.

Background and Experience

I began my work in mental health as a volunteer for the Guidance Center of Ashland working in the Day Treatment program well over thirty years ago. I loved the clients and I was encouraged by the staff there to pursue a career in counseling. I have had experience in a variety of job settings including counseling individuals, couples, and families in private practice, Forensic group work with offenders, and monitoring the progress of Municiple Court probationers.
I live in Ashland with my husband Jan and our two cats. I have been blessed with four great sons, all with lovely wifes, and 13 beautiful grandchildren. For fun I teach martial arts at the YMCA, play trumpet in the Ashland Community Band, go sailing, and assist God in growing things in the backyard.
