We all go through periods in our lives where things feel dark and we cannot see our way forward. I would be honored to partner with you and help you see the light and take the next right step.
Philosophy of Counseling
Finding the right therapist is one of the most important parts of the counseling journey. My clients have said that they feel a comfortable and strong connection when working with me. I work to create a space of trust and mutual respect to help you feel safe to process your feelings, present your issues and explore your goals to become a fully integrated version of yourself. I am qualified to help clients with anxiety, depression, trauma or difficult relationships. When you are facing a major life issue, it is important to find a therapist that you trust on the journey. My treatment approach is holistic, integrative, functional and person-centered with an eclectic approach. I use Rogerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychoeducation, Integrative Therapy and Play Therapy.
Professional Experience and Community Involvement
Professionally, I am a member of the America Counseling Association. I have over three years experience in counseling and have worked in an outpatient hospital setting as well as in foster care and adoption. I have experience working with primary care providers and psychiatrists to tailor medication treatment plans and order proper labs for common mood disorders. I am passionate about working with clients in the areas of depression, anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, OCD, ADD/ADHD, insomnia, trauma, relationships, and women's health.
I am an active member of my community and have served on the local school board. As a foster parent and aunt, I am passionate about supporting children and families. I am also active serving on the Worship Team at Crossroads Church in Mansfield. In my free time, I enjoy being outside in nature, reading, journaling, listening to podcasts, playing with my nieces and nephews, being with my miniature schnauzer Carlisle, playing piano, cooking good food, and spending time with my friends and family.
