To me counseling is about assisting individuals, couples, and families with learning to live in harmony with our Creator, ourselves, and with others as much as possible.
It is no secret that life consists of feelings that extend from great joy to deep sorrow. To be able to experience a full range of emotions in a healthy way, with an appreciation for the part each plays in our daily life, is a blessing. I believe that each individual has a natural ability to heal and recover from past experiences that have been difficult and painful. Counseling can be an excellent way to help with learning how to access this healing process of mind renewal.
To me, counseling is about assisting individuals with learning how to live in harmony with our creator, ourselves and with others as much as possible.

I began my work in the mental health field as Director of Day Treatment and volunteer coordinator for the Ashland County Guidance Center in 1975. Since then, I have had experience in a variety of job settings including working with individuals, couples and families both in private practice and in agency settings. I have done forensic group work with both domestic violence and sexual offenders. In addition, I have assisted Ashland Municipal Court in monitoring the progress of individuals on probation.
I live in Ashland with my husband, Jan. I have been blessed with four sons, their wives and many amazing grandchildren. For fun, I teach Martial Arts and Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, play trumpet in the Ashland Community Band and the Kroc Center New Adventures Band. In the summer, I love to sail and assist God with growing things in the backyard.
